LENT FILM SERIES: Volver

Beginning Tuesday 12 February, 6.15pm

An exciting form of parish to parish partnership in the Gospel has been announced in the City of London this Lent. The Bank Churches Lent Initiative will involve the parishes of St Mary le Bow, St Mary Woolnoth, St Margaret Lothbury, St Anne and St Agnes, St Vedast-Alias-Foster and St Botolph without Bishopsgate. The clergy of these churches have come together to develop a cinematic pilgrimage for Lent. The format is simple: find a stunning and provocative movie and fragment its showing and discussing over a number of weeks in a number of adjacent church venues in the City. Make it relevant to Christianity and make it a pilgrimage for all involved.

Concluding the series will be an informal Tenebrae service in Holy Week on Tuesday 18 March, 6.15pm at St Mary le Bow (Cheapside).

Each session commences at 6.15pm and will last for 45 minutes and will include a guided discussion and will be followed by refreshments. The course is designed as a six week commitment — if you are interested in coming please contact Alan McCormack at St Botolph’s on 020 7588 3388 or by email, rector@botolph.org.uk.
